Mexico · Ready to contribute

A practical
creative partner.

I’m Raul — a Mexican engineer with experience in writing, digital work, and life across cultures. I’m looking for a thoughtful hotel where I can be useful, learn the rhythm of the place, and leave behind work the team can actually use.

01 / Why hospitality

I pay attention
before I write.

Good guest communication starts with understanding what a place is really like, then making that clear to the right people.

6+years living abroad and learning how to settle into unfamiliar places

I’m from Mexico. I lived in the United States for six years, spent three years in Spain, travelled through Europe, and volunteered in Ecuador. Moving between cultures taught me to listen, ask better questions, and notice what helps people feel welcome.

I’m applying to Worldpackers because I want to contribute to a hotel in a way that is useful from day one: writing a page, improving a guide, documenting a small experience, or helping organise a digital task that has been waiting for attention.

02 / What I can help with

Concrete work.
Careful attention.

I’m most useful when the task is clear, the outcome matters, and there is room to improve it together.

01

Guest-facing copy

Website pages, blog posts, room descriptions, newsletters, or short stories about the place.

02

Local guides

Useful recommendations that help guests understand what to do, eat, see, and feel nearby.

03

Visual notes

Simple photos and short clips that document atmosphere, details, and everyday moments.

04

Digital tidy-up

Clearer page copy, content organisation, and practical support with simple online tasks.

03 / The journey so far

A life shaped
by new views.

A timeline of work, movement, and the decision to make room for a different kind of experience.

The foundation

Engineer

I learned to think clearly, solve problems, and turn complex ideas into something useful.

6 years

United States

I worked in a corporate environment and learned discipline, collaboration, and how organizations move.

3 years

Spain

I left my corporate job, moved across the Atlantic, and launched my own business while building a life in a new culture.

Hospitality

Mallorca

I gained hands-on experience handling digital marketing for hotels in Mallorca, Spain.

Along the way

Europe

I travelled through different countries, collecting the small details that stay with you longer than landmarks.

Volunteering

South America & Europe

I began choosing experiences where I could contribute, learn from local communities, and be part of something beyond my own plans.

Now

Mexico → volunteering

I’m back home and ready to spend time contributing to a place whose story deserves to be told well.

04 / Why a host?

More than an extra pair of hands.

I want to volunteer because meaningful travel is not only about seeing a new place — it is about contributing to it. I’m looking for hosts where I can combine practical digital skills with a willingness to learn, help, and be part of the everyday rhythm.

You get someone who can think independently, communicate across cultures, and turn a half-formed idea into something real. I get the chance to learn from your world and help it shine.

A

Curious by default

I ask questions, notice details, and enjoy learning how things work.

B

Adaptable in practice

Different countries taught me how to settle in, contribute, and keep moving.

C

Creative, but practical

Good ideas matter most when they are useful, clear, and finished.

D

Easy to work with

Respect, communication, and a positive attitude are part of the work.
